Verne’s marks
These are trademarks of Verne Ltd.:
- the name Asten;
- the Palette mark, Asten’s logo; and
- the name Verne and Verne’s logo.
This page explains how you may use them without asking. It does not grant any license beyond what it describes.
What is fine without asking
- Referring to Asten by name in reviews, articles, tutorials, videos, and conversation, as long as what you say is accurate.
- Saying that your book, script, or story was written with Asten.
- Using the logos and screenshots from the brand page, unaltered, in press coverage and articles about Asten.
- Linking to this website using the name Asten.
What needs permission
- Suggesting that Verne sponsors, endorses, or is connected with you, your product, or your work.
- Using “Asten”, the Palette mark, or “Verne”, or anything confusingly similar, in the name of your product, company, app, add-in, domain name, or social media account.
- Changing the logo: recoloring, stretching, cropping, animating, adding to it, or combining it with another mark.
- Using the marks on merchandise, or in advertising for anything other than Asten.
- Using the Egyptian artwork from this site as your own branding.
Writing the name
Write “Asten” with a capital A and the rest in lowercase. It is a name, not a verb: your novel was written with Asten; it was not “Astened”.
Asking for permission
For anything this page does not cover, write to info@vernesystems.com with “Trademark” in the subject. Say what you want to do and where. Permission is given only in writing.
If you see the marks being misused, Verne would like to hear about it at the same address.
